Blessed Be The Name of The Lord

"Blessed be the name of the Lord,
Blessed be Your name- JESUS,
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
Blessed be Your glorious name!"

Youth group last night was awesome! Mike came and played bass and the praise and worship service was amazing. It was such a joy to see everyone enjoying singing and praising Jesus! After the song service, Caleb did the lesson on the Crucifixion of Jesus. The kids ate snacks, then the band played for another hour or so. It was a great time to hang out. Seth was the guest drummer for a few songs. Great job, Seth! Enjoy all the pics, but just a disclaimer- they are out of order due to some technical difficulties:)

*Update on Ruth* Last night, Gordy said that Ruth had been moved to the Moberly hospital and would be staying another night. She was still having seizures and the doctors couldn't find the reason. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and that the seizures would stop.

Prayer Request

Please pray for Ruth, one of the ladies in the church. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital last night after services. She is a wonderful Christian woman and has been so supportive of the boys ministry. We pray she heals quickly.

Seek First His Kingdom and His Righteousness

"But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself..." Matthew 6:33-34

The boys have some needs for the youth group and God is taking care of those needs, more than we ever dreamed. They started the day by asking... and ended the day by recieving abundantly! They have leaders stepping up to help, individuals loaning band equipment and will be getting help this week to put the words to their songs up using the computer. Isn't God amazing?

Last night was the second night of youth group. Emilee was sick, so I stayed home with the little kids while Jon went with the boys. Sorry, no pictures this week! But, Jon said the band sounded great, the devotion was great and most of all- kids are excited about Jesus! Caleb had messages last night that kids are inviting their friends like crazy and the fire is spreading.

Praise the Lord

Praise the Lord.
Praise God in His sanctuary;
praise Him in His mighty heavens.
Praise Him for His mighty acts of power;
praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise Him with the harp and lyre,
praise Him with tambourine and dancing,
praise Him with the strings and flute,
praise Him with the clash of cymbals,
praise Him with the resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Psalm 150:1-6

Last night was the first night of the Hidden Light youth group and it was awesome! They started with the band playing some favorites like "Days of Elijah" and then some new songs Caleb and Jason have been working on this week. After the band, Caleb did the devotion on heaven and how God has made a room for each of us and He wants nothing more than for us to be with Him for eternity in heaven. All God is asking for in return is for us to give ourselves to Him. After the devotion, we had snacks and the kids had time to just hang out. God is moving and has already blessed the ministry beyond words. Praise the Lord!

Bake Sale

Jason and Seth (filling in for Caleb who was out of town this last weekend) ready to sell some baked goodies:)

The boys planned a bake sale as a fundraiser for last Saturday. We baked and baked Friday night and they got set up bright and early Saturday morning at Wal-Mart. By noon, they had almost run out of baked goods when almost the whole church showed up to donate more cakes, cookies, you name- it was donated! They went from a couple of ziplock bags of cookies to over 3 tables full of baked goods! Gordy, the minister, brought in more tables, chairs and a canopy for them to sit under. The bake sale was a huge success in more ways than one- the money was great, but greater was the support and love that were shown by the whole church. What a wonderful group of God's people!

Answered prayers

This youth group is the answer to so many prayers that have gone up from Caleb. He has been searching for ways to minister to the lost teens in our area. KING of Kings church has been praying for a way to minister to the lost teens in our area. Isn't God awesome? Caleb and his friend, Jason, now have a full basement to use for the youth group, but most of all- tons of prayers going up from the church for a successful youth group that will win souls for Jesus.

We'll be posting the progress of the group here on this blog and are asking that if your reading- will you pray for the boys- please pray for wisdom. This is a huge responsibility for two young men to take on, but with God all things are possible!
